Uwase

Uwase is a Belgian singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer emerging as a distinctive voice on the indie pop scene. After winning De Nieuwe Lichting by Studio Brussel in 2025, she gained national attention with her celebrated EP Angelo, which earned her a MIA nomination for Breakthrough Artist in January 2026. She is currently writing, composing and producing her debut album, set for release in 2027, once again collaborating with her co-producer Jasper Segers (Balthazar, Sylvie Kreusch, Oriana Ikomo).

As both a performer and producer, Uwase carefully shapes every aspect of her sound and artistic direction. Inspired by the sonic curiosity of producers like Blood Orange and artists such as Caroline Polachek, she approaches music with a refined attention to detail and atmosphere. Her influences range from contemporary voices like Phoebe Bridgers and Lorde to the timeless energy of bands such as Phoenix and LCD Soundsystem. Together with Segers, she blends past and present influences to create a timeless instrumental landscape.
