MAVEE

The 22 year old MAVEE was born and raised in Brussels, Belgium and has Cameroonian roots. She has been dancing her whole life, but if it wasn’t for her sister pushing her shy self, we wouldn’t have known she could sing as well. In 2016 she found herself making covers in her bedroom, which evolved into writing and producing her own songs. Although she never had any experience, it came very natural to her. 

In the next year MAVEE debuted her ep “For Now” and it’s a pleasant mix between soulful synthpop and R&B, where she loves to experiment with harmonies in the backing vocals. The ep did not go unnoticed, because the curators at Wonderland Radio 1 featured her on the show and she got to play a support act in the Ancienne Belgique.

Fast forward one year later, an acquaintance convinces her to enter the music competition Sound Track. A contest organized by VI.BE and all music houses in Flanders such as the AB and Het Depot. Although this was only her second performance, it became very clear to the judges that she was talented. Hence, she won the competition and started to book more and more shows.

Since winning the SoundTrack competition, MAVEE has been keeping busy by working on new music and performing at various venues. Her latest single "I Know" showcases her impressive vocal range and songwriting skills, blending her signature soulful synthpop and R&B sound with heartfelt lyrics.

MAVEE's upcoming projects in 2023 include the release of a new EP, as well as a new liveshow that promises to be even more electrifying than before. She is also set to perform at the iconic venue, the Roma, which marks another major milestone in her career.

Despite her young age, MAVEE's talent and hard work have already earned her recognition within the music industry. With her continued dedication to her craft, it's clear that she is on a path towards greater success and we can't wait to see what she has in store for us next.
