Crackups

CRACKUPS are a band of extremes: insanely fast, tight, seriously loud, but with a keen sense of melody and ear for detail. Debut album ‘Animals On Acid’ (2011) quickly became a bit of a cult, even more so when the foursome went on indefinite hiatus not much later. Having plenty of other projects, CRACKUPS’ members supported various bands as (session) musicians, graphic designers or producer: from Double Veterans and The Priceduifkes to Psycho 44, the list is endless.

But CRACKUPS always feels like coming home and in 2019 the band resurfaces. Sophomore album ‘Greetings From Earth’ is the musical equivalent of a quadruple espresso: vigorous garage punk in seven songs and less than 18 minutes. ‘Wet Sheets’, 'Trainstation', 'White Fruit', 'Getting The Vibes’, every single one a wrecking ball used to wreak havoc live every single time.

Album number 3 will be out by the end of the year. True to their DIY state of mind, they took matters into their own hands again for production and artwork. First single ‘Sgt. Haze’ doesn’t beat about the bush. Don’t look for a handbrake, as they still don’t have one, much to everyone’s relief. No- nonsense and no secrets. Inspired by a record collection that could be their parents’. Black Flag and Devo meets Viagra Boys and Warmduscher. CRACKUPS can see through you.
