BOOGIE BELGIQUE

BOOGIE BELGIQUE
Boogie Belgique is the musical project of Antwerp producer and visual artist Oswald Cromheecke. It started in 2012, when Oswald, then an illustration student, began making music on his own. His debut album Blueberry Hill was released for free through the netlabel Dusted Wax Kingdom, and that choice to share music freely built a grassroots following that has kept growing worldwide ever since. Songs like "Every Time", "Forever & Ever" and "Goodnight Moon" found their way to listeners across the globe, adding up to more than 57 million streams on Spotify alone.
What began as a one-man sample project grew into a collective. Oswald works with a wide circle of musicians, singers and producers, each bringing their own voice to the music. With albums like Volta (2016) and Machine (2022), the sound moved further away from samples and toward soundscapes built from the ground up, played by real musicians. Machine also marked a more reflective turn, with themes like slowing down, the dangers of endless growth and the climate crisis woven through the music. Its follow-up EP, Postlude to Machine, opened the doors even wider, inviting artists like Poldoore, Hugo Kant and Proleter to reimagine the songs.
On stage, Boogie Belgique comes alive as a full band, known for its improvisation, interplay and immersive visuals, and has performed across Europe and beyond, including shows alongside Caravan Palace. Oswald creates all the artwork, videos and design himself, so every release and every show is a visual journey as much as a musical one.
In 2026 a new chapter began with "The Bird", the first single from a new album out in 2027. It's a return to the project's roots in old school boogie, and to the idea it all started with: music made by real people, meant to be shared. With the new album, Boogie Belgique wants to go a step further and make its music as open as possible, free to listen to, to share and to build on.
